...Album Review by Steve Powers, DCW Editor, 1997 Long-time drum corps peronality Jim Centorino has entered a new realm of music composition with his latest recording, It's Christmas Everywhere, This is Centorino's third work following the acclaimed Footsteps In The Sand and Ivory, productions which gained national recognition and enjoyed much success. It's also Centorino's most festive effort. The album is a combination of traditional Christmas melodies arranged Centorino style and original works that highlight his creative style and unique musical ideas. Pay close attention and you will hear a drum corps influence. Although subtle, it's plenty obvious to those who have followed the activity for any amount of time. Throughout It's Christmas Everywhere, Centorino, who is a high school science teacher, makes it perfectly clear that music is for everyone, especially when he is joined on one son by his son, Jim Jr., who lends a hand at various percussion instruments and proves that musical ability is certainly a genetic trait. Go ahead and put It's Christmas Everywhere on your Christmas list. If you've been nice--and you happen to get lucky--maybe you'll find it under your tree later this month.
